Parx is located in Bensalem Township in Bucks County, northeast of the city of Philadelphia.

Famous horse, Afleet, won the 1987 Pennsylvania Derby and To Honor and Serve, the 2011 winner, holds the Derby finishing record of 1:47:1. Parx Casino and Racing (formerly Philadelphia Park Racetrack and Casino) is a Thoroughbred horse racing venue and the largest casino gaming complex in Pennsylvania.

Parx Racing is the home of Pennsylvania’s two premier Thoroughbred races, the US $1 million Grade II Pennsylvania Derby and the US $500,000 Grade I Fitz Eugene Dixon Cotillion Handicap. In 1984, the new owners called it Philadelphia Park and after another change in ownership in 2010, it was christened Parx Racing & Casino which has been in place since. It opened in 1974 under the name of Keystone Racetrack and has had multiple names since. Located approximately 30 minutes north of downtown Philadelphia and 40 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport. Parx Racing is one of the largest gaming complexes in Pennsylvania.
